About The Role
This is a Fixed Term Part Time position at 68 hours per fortnight within the Complex Care Hub.
This is a Fixed Term Part Time position for 12 months.
We are seeking two senior paediatric trainees to join the complex care hub as fellows for 2027.
The complex care hub supports families of children with medical complexity by the providing timely clinical advice, care coordination and multidisciplinary support to allow care to be delivered at home when possible. The fellows will work closely with medical staff both within complex care hub and across a range of hospital departments and support the clinical nurse consultants to provide this care.
In this role the fellow is integral to the intake and needs assessment of these complex patients and families and will have the opportunity to work in specialist clinics providing care for children with neuro-disability, tracheostomies, cleft and craniofacial conditions, hearing impairment and developmental and behavioural conditions.
There is 1.6 FTE available, ideally we would appoint two fellows at 0.8 FTE.
The position is accredited by RACP for 6 months of developmental / psychosocial training for General Paediatrics and sub-speciality training and for non-core training in community child health.
Classification for this position will range from HM17-HM30.
What You’ll Achieve
- Participate in intake and patient review meetings for the Complex Care Hub
- Work in outpatients alongside the consultant paediatricians providing medical case management for children including initial needs assessments and planned and semi urgent review appointments as required, completion and updating of care records as required, written communication with other members of the child’s treating team
- Provide medical supervision in the Day Medical Unit on weekends in rotation.
Your Skills And Experience
Eligibility for general registration as a medical practitioner with the Australian Health Practitioners Regulation Agency at the commencement of clinical training year
Senior Advanced Trainee in paediatrics with an interest in general paediatrics or in developmental medicine.

The Complex Care Hub is an interdisciplinary service established to lead and coordinate the health care experiences for complex patients and their families. Patients with complex needs frequently require multiple teams, advanced technology and medical equipment to support their care needs, both within the hospital and at home.
