Systems Analyst (baseline)

Green Light are looking for a Systems Analyst (Baseline), with experience working with business teams on a Federal Government end customer. This role will see you working on several projects across a large program of work, with a particular focus on initiatives involving Mainframe environments. The successful applicant will have experience working with technologies such as COBOL, CICS, JCL and related legacy platforms, and be comfortable operating in environments where Mainframe systems integrate with broader enterprise solutions. The position involves business process re‑engineering, business transformation and change across technology streams that include both legacy and modern platforms.

Ideally, you will work closely with the Project Manager to drive business solutions and will take pride in your attention to detail, accuracy of your work and your ability to deliver in a fast‑paced, high‑performing team.

This role does require an active AGSVA Baseline clearance at a minimum. Consultants who do not hold this minimum requirement will not be considered.

Responsibilities

  • Experience facilitating workshops to elicit business requirements
  • Ability to translate Mainframe-related technical inputs into clear business requirements, particularly where COBOL, CICS and JCL systems are involved
  • Experience in process definition and working with business teams on re‑engineering process changes, including processes dependent on Mainframe applications
  • Documentation of business requirements and business processes
  • Development of requirements traceability matrix and alignment to the solution design
  • Supporting the Project Manager in ensuring project scope is managed
  • Raising risks, issues and changes affecting the project to the Project Manager and team for resolution
  • Experience in technology projects and implementations, including those involving Mainframe system enhancements or integrations
  • Experience managing user acceptance testing with business resources and technical teams, including teams working on COBOL/CICS‑based systems
  • Providing updates to the project team on project deliverables and scheduled tasks
  • Self-starter with a proactive delivery focus
  • Ability to manage multiple, conflicting priorities
  • Strong attention to detail and high-quality output across all deliverables
  • Strong communication skills and ability to communicate effectively at all levels, including with Mainframe SMEs

Requirements

  • 5+ years’ experience working as a Business Analyst and/or Systems Analyst
  • BABOK, ITIL or equivalent certifications is highly regarded
  • Degree qualification ideally in information technology, change or business
  • Experience working with Mainframe environments (COBOL, CICS, JCL, batch processing) highly regarded and preferred for this program
  • Any experience working with Federal government end customers is highly beneficial
  • Suited to someone driven, self‑motivated and confident, who can manage their own workload and hit the ground running
