Northern Health are seeking applications from a motivated and suitably experienced Laboratory Assistant to join the Central Specimen Reception team.
Northern Health is the major provider of acute, maternity, sub-acute, mental health, specialist, community and home-based services in Melbourne’s rapidly growing outer north.
Northern Hospital Epping, Broadmeadows Hospital, Bundoora Centre, Craigieburn and Mernda Community Hospitals and Kilmore District Hospital. In addition, Mental Health Services are provided at Epping, Broadmeadows, Jacana, Preston, Mill Park, Mernda and Coburg.
About the Role
This role will be responsible for the receiving, sorting, preparing and transport of specimens for analysis; assisting with the registration of pathology requests into the laboratory information system; performing laboratory investigations and general laboratory duties as directed by senior staff.
This position is an ongoing part-time 48 hours per fortnight.
To be successful in this role you will have:
- Experience and good working knowledge of data entry and general laboratory tasks.
- Proven ability to work as a part of team.
- Demonstrated ability to work a rotating roster that involves working weekends and public holidays.
- Participate in the on-call roster
