Public Sector People are working with a Local Council who are seeking an experienced
Coordinator for their Regulatory Services on a temporary full-time contract for 6 months (with the opportunity to extend).

Here Are The Details Of The Role
- Role title: Coordinator Regulatory Services
- Pay: From $65 per hour + super
- Location: Gold Coast / Beaudesert
- Client: Local Council
- Start date: ASAP
- Contract length: 6 months contract (initial term with potential extension)
- Hours: Up to 38 hours per week, Monday to Friday
Position Overview
The Coordinator Regulatory Services is a senior leadership role responsible for overseeing the operational and strategic delivery of Council’s Regulatory Services function.
The role is critical in ensuring effective service delivery, regulatory compliance, and will play a key role in stabilising operations, supporting workforce capability, and driving continuous improvement across the branch.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage Regulatory Services across Environmental Health, Development Compliance, and Animal Management functions, providing operational and strategic oversight to multiple teams
- Supervise and support three team leaders (Environmental Health, Development Compliance, and Rangers) overseeing approximately 18 indirect staff
- Drive regulatory compliance, governance, reporting, and enforcement activities including Local Laws, court processes, and Council reporting obligations
- Lead service delivery and workforce stability through organisational disruption, while implementing change management and continuous improvement initiatives
Ideal Candidate Background
- Strong working knowledge of Local Laws and regulatory frameworks with proven experience in regulatory compliance environments
- Demonstrated leadership experience at team leader or manager level with a strong understanding of council governance, reporting, and statutory processes
- High-level communication and stakeholder engagement skills, including external agencies and community stakeholders
