Knox Private Hospital has opportunities for Registered Nurses to join our busy Cardiac units (Tandarah and Miller wards) on a full time or part-time basis. RNs working in this unit benefit from a focus on continued professional development, supported by experienced cardiac Nurse Unit Managers and a cardiac educator. Career progression is available for those successful candidates to further their careers with Transition to Support Practice programs and Post Graduate studies.
Located in Wantirna, Knox Private Hospital is a fully accredited tertiary facility with 334 beds, providing Emergency Services, Extensive Surgical Specialities, CCU, Medical, and a full range of Cardiac Services including two 24-hour Cardiac Catheter Laboratories.
Our theatre complex comprises of 15 theatres including both a Day Procedure Centre and a Hybrid Theatre supporting a range of acute specialties including General, Endoscopy, Colorectal, Bariatric & Liver surgery, advanced laparoscopic procedures, Cardiac, Neuro, Orthopaedic, Plastic & Reconstructive surgery, Gynaecology, Urology, Vascular, ENT & Paediatric surgery.
As a Registered Nurse on the cardiac ward, your responsibilities will include:
- Provide exceptional cardiac patient care, including the patient and their families.
- Deliver evidence-based nursing care
- Liaise with the multi-disciplinary team
- Ensure patient and staff safety
- Supervise, direct and guide nursing team members; Enrolled Nurses (ENs) and Undergraduates to deliver patient care
- Proactively assess the nursing care provided to ensure the best possible outcome is achieved for the individual / patient
- Complete all required documentation in accordance with local and National Policies
- Provide nursing care to a variety of cardiac patients (heart failure, chest pain, arrhythmias)
- Provide nursing care to patient both pre and post cath lab (coronary angiograms, PPM, PCI’s etc)
- Provide nursing care to patients both pre and post op Cardiothoracic surgery
Essential Criteria
- Current Registration with AHPRA with a minimum 2 years’ experience
- Experience in an acute hospital setting, ideally in a cardiac ward
- Compliance with ACQSHC National standards
- Commitment to quality patient care
- Works independently and within a team
- Exceptional time management and organisational skills
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Strong problem solving and analytical skills
