The Role

We’re looking for a Category Insights & Strategy Manager to lead our category analytics and insights capability.

Reporting to the General Manager, this role plays a critical part in driving business performance through data-led insights, commercial analysis, and process improvement. You will partner closely with Supply Planning, Sales, and Marketing teams to influence category strategy, promotional effectiveness, and product lifecycle decisions.

Managing the Promotions Manager, you will ensure promotional execution is aligned with category insights while continuously improving reporting, data accuracy, and cross-functional processes.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver category reporting and dashboards (Power BI) to drive visibility and performance
  • Analyse sales, customer behaviour, and market trends to identify growth opportunities
  • Evaluate NPD, promotions, and product lifecycle performance, including ROI and commercial impact
  • Provide actionable recommendations to improve category strategy, pricing, and promotions
  • Identify opportunities for SKU optimisation and range efficiency
  • Partner cross-functionally to align insights with supply planning, marketing, and commercial execution
  • Lead initiatives to improve category processes, reporting accuracy, and workflows
  • Manage and develop the Promotions Manager to deliver effective campaign execution
  • Present insights and performance updates to senior leadership

What You’ll Bring

  • Strong experience in data analytics, category insights, or commercial analysis
  • Advanced capability in Power BI or similar reporting tools
  • Proven ability to translate complex data into actionable business insights
  • Experience influencing pricing, promotions, or category decisions
  • Background in wholesale, distribution, or retail environments (preferred)
  • Strong ERP and data analysis capability
  • Excellent stakeholder engagement and communication skills
  • Leadership experience or readiness to step into people leadership
  • Degree in Business, Marketing, Commerce, or related field (preferred)
