Executive Assistant / Studio Coordinator

About the Role

Blaklash is seeking an Executive Assistant / Studio Coordinator to support our growing Brisbane-based studio. We are looking for someone who is organised, proactive, people-focused, and confident in coordinating a wide range of moving parts across a fast-paced, creative and community-focused practice.

This role is central to helping the studio operate smoothly day-to-day, supporting project coordination, travel logistics, event management, and coordination of office systems and team operations. We are looking for someone who enjoys bringing structure and care to collaborative environments and who takes pride in helping teams and communities feel supported.

About Blaklash

Blaklash is an Aboriginal-led design and engagement practice working across landscape architecture, public realm, strategic planning, engagement, and cultural advisory projects throughout Australia.

Our work is grounded in relationships with Country, community, collaborators, and each other. We work closely alongside Traditional Custodians, communities, government, institutions, and multidisciplinary design teams to deliver meaningful and culturally grounded outcomes. As a studio, we value care, adaptability, initiative, collaboration, and strong communication.

About the Role

This role will support the coordination and day-to-day functioning of the studio, including:

  • Assisting the Managing Director with meeting coordination, calendars, and scheduling
  • Attending meetings, taking minutes and following up on action items
  • Coordinating and supporting weekly team meetings and internal workshops
  • Coordinating travel bookings and logistics for the broader team
  • Proactively identifying opportunities to improve studio systems and processes
  • Supporting community engagement sessions through the coordination of venues, catering, transport arrangements, and event preparation
  • Coordination of studio talks, events, functions, and presentations to support the broader team
  • Supporting invitations and communications through platforms such as Mailchimp
  • Supporting general office operations, including office supplies and day-to-day studio needs
  • Helping create welcoming and well-hosted experiences for visitors, collaborators and community

Experience That Would be Beneficial

  • Executive Assistant, administration, office coordination, and project management experience
  • Experience coordinating events, workshops, or engagement activities
  • Experience working within creative industries, community organisations, or design practices
  • Experience using scheduling, communication, or coordination platforms such as Google Suite, Microsoft Office, Mailchimp, Miro or similar systems
