Veterinary Nurse – Evervet South Yarra

Great veterinary nurses aren’t born. They’re supported.

If you’re one or two years into your nursing career and looking for a clinic where you’ll continue to learn, build confidence and genuinely feel part of the team, we’d love to meet you.

At Evervet South Yarra, you’re never just another nurse on the roster.

You’ll know your patients by name, build lasting relationships with clients and work alongside experienced veterinarians and nurses who enjoy teaching and helping each other succeed.

We’re looking for a full-time Veterinary Nurse to join our close-knit team, including occasional participation in our shared Saturday roster.

About Evervet South Yarra

We’re a busy, progressive small animal clinic in the heart of South Yarra with a team of 2.5 veterinarians and 3.5 nurses.

Being a smaller clinic means you’ll quickly become an important part of the team. We know our clients well, and they know us. Many have trusted us with the care of their pets for years because they value the relationships we’ve built together.

At Evervet, we believe pets make us better humans.

What’s Best for the Pet.

That means providing high-quality medicine, practising Fear Free patient care, supporting one another and creating a workplace where people can grow and enjoy long careers in veterinary nursing.

You’ll work closely with experienced veterinarians and nurses who value collaboration, encourage questions and are committed to helping you develop your skills and confidence.

About You

You might have around one or two years of nursing experience, or be a recently qualified veterinary nurse ready for your next step.

Most importantly, you’re someone who:

  • Loves caring for animals and the people who love them.
  • Enjoys building relationships with clients.
  • Is eager to learn and develop your nursing skills.
  • Takes pride in doing things well and is happy to ask questions.
  • Is organised, reliable and enjoys working as part of a team.
  • Brings a positive attitude and is willing to jump in wherever needed.

We can teach skills. We can’t teach kindness, curiosity and a genuine desire to help others.

The Role

This is a varied nursing role where you’ll continue developing your skills across all areas of the clinic, including:

  • Surgical nursing and anaesthetic monitoring.
  • Hospital and inpatient care.
  • Nurse consults.
  • Reception and client communication.
  • Supporting veterinarians with interesting medical and surgical cases.
  • Laboratory work and patient care.
  • Helping maintain the high standards of care our clients have come to expect.

Because we’re a smaller clinic, every team member plays an important role in creating a great experience for both our clients and patients.

What We Offer

  • A genuinely supportive and approachable leadership team.
  • Ongoing mentoring from experienced veterinarians and nurses.
  • Opportunities to build your skills and confidence every day.
  • Strong nursing utilisation with the opportunity to grow your responsibilities.
  • Fear Free-aligned patient handling and care.
  • Well-run systems and workflows.
  • Continuing education and professional development.
  • Staff discounts and team benefits.
  • A workplace that values kindness, teamwork, professionalism and humour.

Most importantly, we believe in building workplaces where people can learn, do great work and enjoy coming to work every day.

Curious?

If this sounds like the kind of clinic where you’d like to build your career, we’d love to have a conversation.

No pressure. No recruiters. Just people who care about building a great team.
