At Jacobs, we're challenging today to reinvent tomorrow by solving the world's most critical problems for thriving cities, resilient environments, mission-critical outcomes, operational advancement, scientific discovery and cutting-edge manufacturing, turning abstract ideas into realities that transform the world for good.
Your impact
Our Energy and Power group is growing, and we’re delivering a diverse range of transmission line projects across Australia. We’re looking for a Senior Transmission Lines Engineer to play a key role in bringing these projects to life.
You’ll be delivering high voltage transmission line projects across Australia and, increasingly, the wider APAC region. As part of Jacobs’ established Transmission Lines team, you’ll contribute to real projects from early design through to construction support—working on infrastructure that underpins the energy transition.
With our strong pipeline of work ahead, you’ll have the opportunity to build depth in transmission line design while staying close to the practical realities of delivery.
You’ll be supported by experienced engineers locally, with access to a broader network of specialists across APAC, giving you scope to learn, share knowledge, and contribute to projects beyond Australia.
This role offers variety—technical design work, collaboration across regions, and the occasional site visit to some of the more remote and interesting parts of our country.
Here's what you'll need
Experience in transmission line engineering and design
A degree in Civil, Structural, Mechanical, or Electrical Engineering
Familiarity with tools such as PLS-CADD, TOWER, or POLE
An understanding of relevant standards (AS/NZS, IEEE, IEC)
A practical approach to problem-solving and a willingness to collaborate across teams
We’re open to different levels of experience - if you have a background in transmission line design but don’t quite see yourself at “senior” level yet, we’d still encourage you to apply. There may be other opportunities within the team that align with your experience. If you’re earlier in your career, this is a chance to build your capability with strong technical support and a steady flow of well-scoped work. If you’re more experienced, you’ll have the opportunity to take on greater ownership, contribute to technical direction, and support the development of others—while still staying close to the technical work.
With safety and flexibility always top of mind, we’ve gone beyond traditional ways of working so you have the support, means and space to maximize your potential. You’ll uncover flexible working arrangements, benefits and opportunities, from well-being benefits to our global giving and volunteering program, to exploring new and inventive ways to help our clients make the world a better place. No matter what drives you, you’ll discover how you can cultivate, nurture and achieve your goals – all at a single global company. Find out more about life at Jacobs here .
