Organisational Development Specialist (Initial 9-Month Contract)
Location: Brisbane (with flexible hybrid options)
The Big Picture: Who We Are
At Catholic Early EdCare, we do something that truly matters - we shape the early years of children’s lives. Across Southeast Queensland, we run a vibrant, expanding network of over 130 long day care, kindergarten, and outside school hours care services.
But behind every great service is a great team of people. Right now, we are in an incredibly exciting phase. We are rolling out a series of major strategic initiatives and milestone projects designed to invest heavily in our workforce, elevate our culture, and support our leaders.
That’s where you come in. We are looking for an Organisational Development Specialist for a 9-month chapter to help us with the continuous development of employee engagement.
What You’ll Actually Be Doing
This isn’t a role where you’ll just be keeping the seats warm. You will have total ownership of high-impact projects that will leave a real legacy across our entire network.
Your initial 9 months with us will focus on:
- Leadership Capability Uplift: We have a core leadership training and development program in the making at the moment. You will take the reins—managing, refining, and rolling it out across the network to empower our current and emerging leaders.
- Support initiatives that strengthen culture, leadership effectiveness, employee experience, and organisational capability: You'll play a key role in bringing our people strategy to life. From designing employee engagement initiatives to supporting culture-building programs and enhancing the overall employee experience, you'll help create an environment where our people feel valued, connected, and inspired to thrive.
- Monthly Team Lunches & Employee of the Month: Overseeing the company-wide rewards and recognition program, including promotion, tracking and communication
- The Leadership Conference: Planning and assisting with leadership development events like professional development days, conferences and focus groups
- Develop and execute communication strategies that drive engagement and participation in key initiatives.
Who We’re Looking For
We aren't just looking for someone with the right keywords on their resume; we need a practitioner who genuinely cares about people but knows how to get things done.
Ideally, you bring:
- Real Learning & Development runs on the board: You’ve successfully managed and implemented leadership development programs before. You know how to make training stick and change behaviours.
- A Project Management Mindset: You love structure. You treat OD initiatives like a proper project—with clear timelines, milestones, and solid change management so people feel supported through the transition.
- Survey Savvy: Organisational Skills and Improvement Mindset
- Exceptional People Skills: You’ll be talking to a huge variety of people—from busy educators on the ground to centre directors and executive leaders. You need to be able to build fast rapport, listen with empathy, and communicate beautifully.
Why Join Catholic Early EdCare
