Senior Principal Engineer BASE24

We are seeking an experienced Senior Principal Engineer to join a high-performing technology team delivering strategic initiatives across the Payments and Cards domain. This is an excellent opportunity to play a key technical leadership role, driving the design and delivery of enterprise-scale payment solutions within a complex, regulated environment.

What You'll Be Doing

• Provide technical leadership across major Payments and Cards initiatives.
• Design and guide the delivery of scalable, secure, and resilient payment solutions.
• Work closely with engineering, architecture, delivery, and business stakeholders to deliver strategic outcomes.
• Mentor engineering teams and champion engineering best practices.
• Contribute to the modernisation and optimisation of payment platforms within a highly regulated banking environment.

What You'll Bring

• Proven experience as a Principal Engineer, Senior Principal Engineer, or senior technology leader.
• Strong experience across Payments and Cards, including one or more of:
• NPP
• PayTo
• Card Issuing
• Card Acquiring
• Hands-on experience with ACI BASE24 payment platforms.
• Experience using DALCI (Data Access Layer Command Interface) within the BASE24 environment is highly desirable.
• Experience delivering enterprise technology solutions using AWS and/or Azure.
• Strong stakeholder engagement skills, particularly within regulated financial services.
• Previous experience working for a major Australian bank is highly regarded.
• Experience in Release Train Engineer (RTE) or technology delivery leadership roles will be viewed favourably.
