Solution Architect (12 Month Contract)

Shape the Architecture Behind Australia's Commercial Insurance Transformation!

Chubb is one of the world's largest insurers - and right now, our Australian technology team is in the middle of something genuinely exciting: a full-scale digital transformation of commercial insurance, built product-led, agile, and from the ground up.

We're looking for a Solution Architect who wants to leave a blueprint that lasts, not just deliver tickets.

You'll sit at the intersection of technology and business strategy, designing the architecture that powers broker and customer experiences across AU and the broader APAC region. Day to day, you'll own the architectural blueprint for our insurance operations technology stack, challenge and guide delivery teams on solution design, and act as the bridge between what our business needs and what our platforms can do.

What you will do

• Design and own end-to-end architectural blueprints, patterns, and guidelines across our commercial insurance operations technology landscape
• Drive build vs. buy decisions and ensure every new capability aligns with security, scalability, and business goals - not just technical preference
• Partner directly with business leaders at the conceptual stage to shape technology direction before a line of code is written
• Review and challenge solution designs from delivery teams, keeping the architecture honest and aligned to the target state
• Contribute to and influence Chubb's global architecture community, sharing and stress-testing ideas with peers across 54 countries

Nice to have

• TOGAF, AWS Solutions Architect, or Azure Architect certification
• Experience in privacy regulations, data governance, and secure architecture - with the ability to build compliance in from day one rather than bolt it on later
• Proficiency across database systems (SQL, NoSQL, Oracle, MongoDB) and data management tooling such as Informatica or SSIS
Exposure to Omni-channel platforms, e-communications, or digital correspondence solutions in an insurance or financial services context
