A full-time position has now become available for an experienced Truck Technician / Diesel Mechanic within our state-of-art workshop. To be effective in this role you must have excellent time management and organisational skills, and a background in heavy vehicle maintenance, repair and services.

Key responsibilities and duties will include, but are not limited to:

  • Maintain heavy vehicles by completing inspections and preventative maintenance requirements, correcting deficiencies, completing repairs and maintaining repair records.
  • Ensuring that Heavy Vehicles are maintained, serviced and kept in a roadworthy state to ensure driver performance.
  • Under guidance of the Workshop Supervisor or delegate, determines condition by conducting inspections, identifying worn and damaged parts.
  • Identify repairs required through wear and tear, complete repairs and advise workshop supervisor upon completion, complete relevant paperwork.
  • Keep equipment available for use by completing preventative maintenance schedules under direction of the Workshop Supervisor or delegate; installing components and part upgrades; controlling corrosion.
  • Correct deficiencies by removing, repairing, adjusting, overhauling, assembling, disassembling and replacing components, parts, or systems
  • Ensure parts conform to factory specification.
  • Keep supplies ready by ensuring inventory stock is available to perform to perform task, negotiating with store person of supplies required to perform repairs.
  • Ensure safe work practices in line with the Occupational Health and Safety Act 2004 or amendment

To Be Considered For This Role You Should Have

  • Previous experience in similar e.g., Road Transport, Minning Industry, or Dealership).
  • Strong attention to detail with exceptional service and communication skills, both verbal and written along with computer skills.
  • The ability to work in a team & multi-task in a fast-paced environment.
  • Have an honest and efficient work ethic.
  • Mechanical knowledge.

Essential Qualifications

  • Formal qualification in Heavy Vehicle/Diesel mechanical/Diesel Engine Technology
