Program Finance Specialist - NT Gov, Contract

Program Finance Specialist (12 months), Darwin

Responsibilities for the role are as follows:

  • Consolidate and analyse financial data and budgets, provide monthly financial reporting including commentary to variouscommittees and stakeholders
  • Work with Directors to develop Project and Program budgets for current financial year and outer years
  • Ensure compliance with NT Government budgeting timelines and funding streams including Operational, Employee andCapital appropriations
  • Assemble and summarise data to structure sophisticated reports on finical status and risk
  • Develop financial models that allow dynamic financial analysis for all Programs and Projects
  • Provide guidance to the DPS Finance Team to ensure cost capturing, monthly processes and financial obligations arebeing met in a timely manner
  • Review and drive continuous improvement throughout all DPS financial processes* Consult with management to guide and influence long term and strategic decision making Key Duties & Responsibilities:

Essential Skills and Experience

  • Proven recent experience working in a similar role and financial quantitative background
  • Understanding of accounting methodology for Intangible Assets (IT Projects)
  • Advanced excel capabilities and proficient in spreadsheets, databases and MS Office applications
  • Experience building financial models with hands on experience in statistical analysis and financial reporting* Proven knowledge of financial principles including forecasting and diagnosis, corporate finance, project finance appraisals and information analysis

Desirable Skills and Experience

  • Degree in Finance or Accounting field, CPA or CA preferred
