Eastern Health

Eastern Health is one of Melbourne’s largest public health services. We provide a range of emergency, surgical, medical and general healthcare services and have a proud history of serving a diverse community.

Our Employee Value Proposition is “Being a part of Eastern Health means belonging to a welcoming team of healthcare experts”.

This statement aligns with our promise to our communities, patients, consumers and staff that we will be HEALTHIER TOGETHER. Bolder than a vision for the future, our promise calls us to action. We know that working together is the only way we can achieve what is necessary for a healthier future.

About the role

An exciting opportunity is available for a highly organised and proactive Team Leader to join our Information Release team. In this role, you will oversee the day-to-day operations of the Release of Information (ROI) and Information Release Administrative teams, ensuring the delivery of high-quality, compliant services.

You will play a key part in coordinating workflows, supporting team members, and maintaining strong relationships with internal stakeholders and external organisations such as courts, police, legal representatives, and patients. Working closely with the Operations Manager – Information Release, you will help drive team performance and ensure compliance with relevant legislation.

A critical aspect of the role involves providing practical guidance to staff on the appropriate release of information, including interpreting legislative requirements and, when needed, seeking advice from legal counsel.

About you

You are an adaptable and motivated leader who thrives in a fast-paced, detail-focused environment. You bring a supportive leadership style and are passionate about guiding teams to deliver excellent service.

You will bring

Demonstrated leadership experience with the ability to motivate and support a team

Strong judgement and decision-making skills, with the confidence to work autonomously and escalate where required

Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to engage sensitively and professionally with patients, staff, courts, and legal representatives

A high level of professionalism, discretion, and resilience when handling complex or sensitive matters

Desirable

Experience in Freedom of Information (FOI), Release of Information, health information, quality or risk environments is advantageous but not essential.

Comprehensive training and ongoing support will be provided to the successful candidate.

Healthcare workers are strongly recommended to follow COVID vaccination recommendations provided in the Australian Immunisation handbook (based on ATAGI advice). Seasonal vaccination against influenza is a mandatory requirement of this role and an offer is conditional on this being up to date prior to employment.

Those that are offered and/or start between January and April do not require an up to date vaccination for Influenza to progress providing they are aware of its requirement later in the year. Those that are offered and/or start between May and December require the up to date Influenza vaccination prior to offer.
