Are you a skilled and proactive Handyperson join our dedicated Engineering team at Stamford Plaza Melbourne where no two days are the same!

In this hands-on role, you’ll ensure the smooth operation of our hotel’s electrical systems and general maintenance, helping to create a safe, efficient, and welcoming environment for our guests and team members.

About the role

As our Handyperson, you’ll play a key role in supporting the day-to-day maintenance of guest rooms, public areas, and back-of-house facilities.

Your tasks will include

Conducting general repairs and preventative maintenance throughout the property

Assisting with plumbing, painting, electrical, and carpentry tasks as needed

Responding promptly to maintenance requests and ensuring timely follow-up

Supporting the Engineering team with scheduled maintenance programs and safety checks

Maintaining high standards of presentation, safety, and guest satisfaction

About you

To be successful in this role, you will have:

A relevant trade qualification or general maintenance experience will be highly regarded

Previous experience in a maintenance or handyperson role (preferably within hospitality or commercial buildings)

A proactive, “can-do” attitude and strong attention to detail

The ability to work both independently and as part of a team

Good communication and time management skills

Basic understanding of workplace safety and maintenance procedures

Flexibility to work across a rotating roster, including weekends if required
