ABOUT THE ROLE

As a result of internal promotion, our innovation team has an opportunity for two highly organised and analytical Innovation Officers to help shape, drive and deliver innovative solutions to provide exceptional service to our customers and vendors. Under the direction of the Chief Marketing & Innovation Officer you will partner with all areas of the business to create innovation capability and culture within the organisation to challenge mindsets and disrupt the current ways of working.

Your key responsibilities will include

  • Participating in design thinking projects to solve company problems by providing project direction and influence, requirements gathering, analysis, implementation and transition
  • Collaborating with all parts of the business, from IT to finance to UX, to encourage design thinking and innovation
  • Leading innovation in the business and helping oversee yours and others' ideas from beginning to implementation
  • Driving design thinking and innovation within Pickles
  • Managing the innovation funnel for employees to raise ideas
  • Researching cutting edge trends and innovations to trial at Pickles
  • Hypothesising and creating experiments to test company vulnerabilities and concerns
  • Developing and refining ideas using design thinking methodologies and bringing new business concepts to life with professional prototypes, presentations and videos
  • Partnering with operations and marketing teams to identify strategic opportunities to unlock new markets or segments
  • Establishing key performance indicators for venture outcomes while also defining the business model and case for new ventures, products and services
  • Keeping staff informed of the purpose, progress and strategy for Innovation through various mediums
  • Tracking and reporting on progress of Innovation against the metrics and objectives
  • Analysing and presenting data trends and results from the company and our customers

ABOUT YOU

To be successful in this role, you will need to have the following skills and experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in marketing, business, economics, finance or similar
  • Basic design skills in Adobe Creative Cloud, Figma, and Final Cut Pro (Desirable)
  • Knowledge of product development methodologies including agile, scrum, waterfall, sprints, leave and Kanban
  • A general knowledge of design thinking and design thinking strategies, such as development of personas, empathy mapping and more
