Membership & Communications Coordinator – 1.0 FTE (hybrid)

  • Located near Chatswood Station, hybrid work – 4 days WFH, 1 day in office

THE ORGANISATION

The Thoracic Society of Australia and New Zealand (TSANZ) is a health promotion charity whose mission is to lead, support and enable all health workers and researchers who aim to prevent, cure, and relieve disability caused by lung disease. The TSANZ is the only Peak Body in both Australia and New Zealand that represents all health professionals working in all fields of respiratory health.

The TSANZ is a leading advocate and provider of evidence-based policy for the prevention and management of respiratory conditions in Australia and New Zealand. Providing professional education and training to over 1,800 members.

THE ROLE

The Thoracic Society of Australia & New Zealand (TSANZ) are seeking a full-time Membership Coordinator. Candidates with experience in working for a membership organisation are desirable but an ability to demonstrate strong stakeholder relationships are essential. Strong written and verbal communication skills are required. As part of the membership and events team, you will support our members by being their first point of contact, answering any enquiries, assisting with membership renewals, and providing secretariat support to the board, subcommittees and others as required.

TO BE SUCCESSFUL IN THIS ROLE YOU MUST HAVE

  • This role is front of house, so what is most important is your customer service, responsiveness and attention to detail, rather than formal educational qualifications.
  • Well-developed attention to detail (this is a core requirement above educational qualifications), organisational, planning, and multi-tasking skills along with the ability to coordinate competing priorities.
  • Experience in an administration, secretariat or project support or coordination role.
  • High-level written and verbal communication skills with attention to detail.
  • Professional attitude and experience in managing stakeholder relationships to achieve positive outcomes.
  • Be proficient in MS Office suite and CRMs.

Desirable

  • Exposure to or understanding of the not-for-profit and or health sector.
  • Experience in any area of front of house service. We are flexible, it could be experience in a five star hotel, luxury retail setting, doctor’s office or in a corporate environment and etc.

Education

A recognised university, TAFE qualification or recognised work experience in lieu of post high school education. What is more important than educational qualifications is your attention to detail (this is a core requirement), work ethic, ability to gel with your team, and willingness to lend a hand to make the organisation thrive.
