The Opportunity: A Pure Hunter's Framework
We are seeking a seasoned, high-velocity Business Development Manager (BDM) who thrives on commercial hunting, problem-led discovery, and fast-paced closing cycles.
Because we operate in the agile SME space, our sales cycles move exceptionally fast— typically closing in 1 to 3 weeks. Your singular mission is to uncover an SME founder's structural financial headaches, present our high-impact Virtual CFO and bookkeeping solutions, and secure the contract signature.
Once signed, you execute a clean hand-off directly to our expert delivery team (led by our co-founders) so you can return immediately to hunting. You win the commission; our operations team handles the ongoing delivery.
Core Responsibilities
- Build & Own Your Pipeline (Day 1): Actively source, map, and engage new SME opportunities using our modern outbound tech stack (Apollo.io databases, warm-intent email trigger data, and automated prospecting engines).
- Execute Consultative, Problem-Led Selling: Move away from generic feature pitching or technical jargon. You will connect directly with SME Founders, Managing Directors, and CEOs, running deep discovery conversations to uncover profit leakages, cash flow stress, and operational bottlenecks.
- Direct Objection Handling & Pacing Control: Maintain total control of the sales conversation. You must possess the confidence to handle pushback directly, implement our structured objection-handling frameworks, and guide prospects calmly but assertively toward a decision.
- Close and Lock the Calendar: Seamlessly lead prospects from initial discovery into our structured "Business Scorecard" phase, closing deals confidently and securing calendar commitments on the spot without letting opportunities stall.
- Commercial Autonomy: Work with a medium level of autonomy to negotiate pricing and tailor service scopes, collaborating directly with the founders within clear margin guidelines to lock in agreements efficiently.
- CRM Data Integrity: Manage your pipeline forecasting, opportunity stages, and conversation history with absolute discipline inside Zoho CRM.
Experience & Traits We Are Looking For
- 3–5+ Years of Proven B2B Closing Experience: A verified track record of selling consultative professional services, B2B SaaS, corporate recruitment solutions, commercial finance, or digital agency packages directly to SME business owners.
- The "Full-Cycle Hunter" Profile: You do not wait around for marketing inbound leads to drop. For the first 6 months, you will aggressively build your own engine. You know how to leverage cold databases, execute high-quality phone dials, craft custom LinkedIn outreach, and turn cold lists into warm revenue.
- Grounded Executive Presence: You can speak confidently and peer-to-peer with business founders earning millions of dollars. You speak slowly, listen intensely, drop all unnecessary corporate buzzwords, and focus entirely on simple business outcomes.
- High Coachability & Speed of Implementation: You possess the professional humility to accept strategic direction and technical pointers from the founders, with the ability to implement script updates and pacing adjustments on your very next live call.
- High Accountability: You take full data ownership over your target metrics, weekly conversion forecasts, and administrative compliance.
Remuneration & Commission Architecture
Our compensation plan is explicitly designed to heavily reward hunters who love upfront cash velocity:
- The Base: $110,000 – $125,000 (commensurate with experience) + 12% Superannuation.
- The Incentive (Uncapped): 10% of the first 6 month’s recurring revenue paid as a cash commission bonus upon a signed contract and first invoice payment.
- Example: Secure a standard $3,000/mo Virtual CFO client = $1,800 total cash commission payment. Close 4 per month, and your annualised earnings clear $211,000+.

Probationary Period
Your employment is subject to an initial probationary period of six (6) months, commencing on your start date. During this period, your sales activity, script compliance, CRM documentation, and overall suitability for the role will be monitored daily against agreed activity baselines. At any time during this probationary period, either party may terminate this agreement by providing one (1) week’s written notice, or the Company may elect to provide payment in lieu of notice.
