Rugby World Cup Australia is seeking an experienced and driven Senior Technology Delivery Manager to lead the end-to-end delivery of critical technology services for one of the world’s premier sporting events. Based in Sydney, reporting to the Head of Tournament Technology Services, this role sits at the centre of tournament operations, ensuring that broadcast, audio-visual, connectivity, and communications solutions are effectively planned, integrated, and ready for seamless delivery. Working across local and global stakeholders , including World Rugby’s central technology team in the UK , you will play a pivotal role in bringing together people, partners, and systems to support a world-class tournament.
With responsibility spanning both match and non-match environments, you will oversee technology readiness across stadiums, training venues, and team hotels ensuring each location meets tournament standards and is operationally prepared. This is a high-impact, fast-paced role suited to a proven delivery leader who thrives in complex, multi-venue event environments, brings strong project and stakeholder management capability, and can confidently drive outcomes under fixed deadlines while maintaining a collaborative, solutions-focused approach.
Key responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Manage delivery across non-match venues (hotels, training sites), including gap analysis and ensuring alignment to tournament standards
- Oversee broadcast, media, and AV technology across match venues, including press conferences, team solutions, and host broadcast requirements
- Lead end-to-end delivery of tournament technology services, ensuring solutions are on-time, on-budget, and operationally ready across all venues
- Coordinate with RWCA functional areas to capture, plan, and deliver technology requirements supporting tournament operations
- Partner with World Rugby’s central technology team to ensure compliance with global standards, systems, and cybersecurity requirements
- Work closely with key stakeholders, including venue teams, suppliers, broadcast and media operations, and network providers, to align delivery
- Drive strong project governance and management, including scheduling, budgeting, risk and issue management, reporting, and operational readiness for go-live
Qualifications & Experience
- 8+ years’ experience in technology delivery within large-scale, multi-venue environments
- Experience in 3 major international sporting events (mandatory)
- Proven experience delivering end-to-end technology programs, managing multi-million-dollar budgets, timelines, and outcomes
- Strong expertise across event technology ecosystems, including broadcast, audio-visual, connectivity, telecommunications, and media operations
- Demonstrated ability to manage complex stakeholder and vendor environments, including global teams, suppliers, and functional areas
- Advanced project and program management capability, including governance, risk, issue, change, and financial management
- Experience delivering in high-pressure, fixed-deadline event environments, with a focus on operational readiness and live delivery
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence, manage expectations, make decisions under pressure, and work in a highly organised, proactive, and collaborative manner
- Flexibility to travel and work irregular hours as required.
