Role Purpose

The Housing Administration Officer provides efficient and accurate administrative support across housing operations, including property management, assets, maintenance, and housing-related activities. Working under general direction, the role supports the coordination of processes, maintains high-quality data and records, and contributes to effective service delivery.

The position is a capable and confident user of housing systems and business tools, supporting day to-day operations, assisting staff, and ensuring information is accurately captured and maintained. The role contributes to continuous improvement by identifying administrative efficiencies and supporting consistent, compliant practices across the housing service.

Some Key Responsibilities Include

  • Provide administrative support across housing functions, including tenancy, property, asset, and maintenance activities
  • Maintain and update housing data systems to ensure accuracy, completeness, and compliance with organisational requirements
  • Assist with maintaining accurate records and documentation, supporting operational processes and reporting activities
  • Use housing systems and digital tools confidently to support workflows, data entry, and information management
  • Contribute to the improvement of administrative processes, systems use, and data quality through practical suggestions and feedback
  • Work collaboratively with Housing, Assets, Maintenance, and other teams to support coordinated service delivery
  • Ensure client and property information is recorded accurately and handled in line with privacy and confidentiality requirements
  • Support client and renter engagement activities through effective administration and customer service

This role involves direct client and community-based work, including outreach and lone working in unfamiliar environments. Employees may support individuals experiencing trauma, mental health issues, family violence, or significant psychosocial stressors, and may be exposed to emotionally challenging situations and, on occasion, distressed, agitated, aggressive, or violent behaviours. The role requires emotional resilience, sound judgement, and the consistent application of trauma informed and self care practices. The organisation actively manages psychosocial and safety risks through risk assessment and planning, supervision, workload monitoring, safety protocols, check in procedures, training, managerial support, and access to employee wellbeing supports.
