Glencore’s McArthur River Mine (MRM) is a world-class zinc-lead mine with a strong future. Located in the Gulf of Carpentaria, approximately 900 km southeast of Darwin and 64 km from Borroloola, we produce and process zinc, lead, and silver from our open-cut operation. About The Role
Reporting to the Senior Reliability Engineer, the role supports the Maintenance Reliability team in achieving safety, reliability, availability, and cost-effectiveness targets. The role focuses on analysing equipment, components, and processes to identify reliability improvement opportunities, optimise asset performance, reduce downtime, and implement practical solutions that enhance operational efficiency and support reliable plant performance.
Key Responsibilities

Drive asset reliability, equipment health, and availability through condition monitoring, predictive maintenance, and risk management strategies
Develop and optimise maintenance strategies to improve performance, reduce lifecycle costs, and ensure statutory compliance
Lead reliability improvement initiatives, including root cause analysis, defect elimination, and engineering solutions to prevent recurring failures
Deliver improvement projects and collaborate with operational stakeholders to maximise plant performance, throughput, and asset integrity
Mentor and support emerging engineers while promoting continuous improvement and reliability best practices
Complete work to a high standard and within agreed timeframes
Effectively manage priorities to maximise productivity and resource efficiency
Demonstrate flexibility and adaptability in a dynamic work environment
Uphold company values and maintain a strong commitment to health, safety and environmental standards
Communicate clearly and professionally, valuing diverse perspectives and building positive working relationships
Key Requirements
-
Tertiary degree in Engineering or a related trade discipline
Condition Monitoring Certifications (VA Cat 1, oil analysis, infrared thermography) CMRP or equivalent
Strong knowledge of mining operations and processes
Strong communication skills with the ability to liaise with both internal and external stakeholders
Proven ability to analyse monitoring data and write technical reports
A strong commitment to safety, quality, and continuous improvement
