The Role

As a ServiceNow HAM / CMDB Consultant, you will play a key role in supporting the implementation, enhancement, and ongoing management of Hardware Asset Management (HAM), CMDB, and Discovery capabilities.

You will work closely with IT Operations, Asset Management, Infrastructure, and Service Management teams to improve asset visibility, strengthen data integrity, and drive governance and compliance across the environment.

Responsibilities

• Support administration and continuous improvement of ServiceNow HAM, CMDB, and Discovery capabilities
• Configure and optimise Discovery schedules and patterns to ensure accurate CI population
• Maintain CMDB data quality, integrity, and governance standards
• Manage hardware assets across the full lifecycle (procurement through to retirement)
• Collaborate with infrastructure and application teams to maintain Configuration Items and service relationships
• Support ITIL-aligned configuration management practices and processes
• Perform CMDB audits, reconciliation activities, and data quality reviews
• Gather requirements and implement ServiceNow solutions aligned to business objectives
• Develop dashboards, reporting, and performance metrics
• Create and maintain technical documentation and knowledge articles

Requirements

• Experience across ServiceNow ITAM, ITOM, CMDB, Discovery, or Configuration Management
• Hands-on experience with:
  • Hardware Asset Management (HAM)
  • CMDB and Discovery
  • Configuration Management / SACM
  • IT Service Management (ITSM)
• Strong understanding of CIs, CI relationships, and service mapping
• ITIL 4 Foundation certification (preferred/required)
• ServiceNow Certified System Administrator (CSA)
• ServiceNow Implementation Specialist certification (ITAM, ITOM, or Discovery)
• Experience in ServiceNow HAM Pro / ITAM / ITOM implementations
• Solid understanding of infrastructure environments (cloud, server, network)
• Excellent stakeholder engagement and communication skills

Additional Requirements

• Current Australian Government security clearance (Baseline, NV1 or higher)
