Head of Enterprise Risk

P&N Bank

Where you’ll add value

We are seeking a highly experienced and forward-thinking Head of Enterprise Risk to join our senior leadership team. Reporting to the Chief Risk Officer, this is a critical role with enterprise-wide influence, responsible for strengthening risk maturity, enhancing resilience and embedding a high-performing risk culture.

You will bring a contemporary and pragmatic approach to risk, balancing compliance with commercial outcomes, while elevating risk capability across the organisation and positioning risk as a true enabler of performance.

This role offers the opportunity to operate as a trusted advisor to the Executive and Board, providing strategic insight and robust challenge across all risk domains. This is a permanent, full-time opportunity and can be based in Perth, Brisbane or Coffs Harbour.

Responsibilities include:

  • Lead and continuously uplift the Enterprise Risk Management Framework (ERMF) and governance practices
  • Provide independent oversight, challenge and assurance across operational risk, controls, and key business initiatives
  • Partner with Executive leadership to deliver forward-looking risk insight that informs strategic decision-making
  • Drive development and monitoring of the Risk Appetite Statement and enterprise-wide risk reporting
  • Oversee emerging risk themes including cyber, data, fraud, outsourcing and operational resilience
  • Lead regulatory engagement, including interactions with APRA and support for prudential reviews
  • Strengthen risk culture, capability and accountability across first and second line teams
  • Ensure high-quality reporting and engagement with Board and Board Risk Committees

What sets you up for success

  • Extensive senior leadership experience across enterprise or operational risk within financial services
  • Deep understanding of prudential regulation, including APRA standards, along with broader risk frameworks and governance expectations
  • A strong track record of engaging at senior levels, including with regulators, Executive teams and Boards
  • Experience designing and embedding enterprise risk frameworks, along with supporting systems and reporting uplift
  • Capability across core risk disciplines such as risk appetite, incident management and oversight of control environments
  • Highly developed influencing skills, with the confidence to engage and challenge at Executive level
  • Sound strategic judgement, with the ability to balance regulatory requirements alongside commercial priorities
  • Exceptional communication skills, particularly in preparing and delivering Board-level reporting
  • Tertiary qualifications in a relevant discipline such as risk, finance, commerce or accounting
