Procurement Commercial Stream Lead
Sense Recruitment
Lead Procurement on a Major Business Transformation Program.
Our client is delivering a confidential, enterprise-wide logistics transformation that will reshape the way a critical Australian operation delivers services into the future. As part of this highly strategic program, they are seeking an experienced Procurement Commercial Stream Lead to drive complex sourcing initiatives across one of the program's most significant workstreams.
This is far more than a traditional procurement role. You'll partner with senior leaders across commercial, legal, cyber, systems, infrastructure and operational teams, leading the procurement strategy for major technology and business initiatives that will have long-term organisational impact.
You'll take ownership of the complete sourcing lifecycle, from market analysis and procurement strategy through to tender management, commercial negotiations, contract award and implementation. Along the way you'll influence senior stakeholders, build strong commercial relationships and ensure procurement delivers genuine business value.
This role would suit someone who enjoys operating in complex project environments where no two days are the same and where commercial thinking, stakeholder engagement and strategic procurement expertise are equally important.
You'll be responsible for:
- Leading end-to-end strategic sourcing activities across a major transformation program.
- Developing sourcing strategies that balance commercial outcomes, risk, innovation, safety and operational requirements.
- Leading complex commercial negotiations with major suppliers and vendors.
- Partnering with executive stakeholders to develop business cases and procurement strategies.
- Providing commercial leadership throughout project delivery while ensuring governance and procurement best practice are maintained.
We're looking for someone who has:
- At least seven years' hands-on strategic procurement experience.
- Proven experience leading complex source-to-contract procurement activities.
- Strong commercial negotiation skills across high-value, business-critical procurements.
- Exceptional stakeholder management skills with the ability to influence at all levels.
- Experience supporting large transformation or project environments.
- Degree qualifications in Procurement, Supply Chain, Business, Management or a related discipline.
- Project procurement or project management experience will be highly regarded.
- Experience within logistics or supply chain industries would be advantageous.
If you're looking for an opportunity to lead procurement on a program that will genuinely shape the future of a major organisation, we'd love to hear from you.
