The Position

St John of God Health Care seeks to appoint an accomplished and values‑driven executive as Chief Executive Officer, Midland Public Hospital. Reporting within a complex public health environment, the Chief Executive Officer is responsible for the strategic and operational leadership of a multi‑disciplinary hospital that includes a 24/7 Emergency Department, intensive care, general medicine and surgery, maternity, paediatrics, mental health and oncology services, supported by a significant ambulatory and outpatient footprint.

Operating under a long‑term partnership with WA Health, Midland Public Hospital sits at the intersection of public system accountability and private operational delivery. This creates a uniquely complex and highly visible leadership environment requiring strong system alignment, disciplined operational execution and the ability to build trusted relationships across government, clinicians and the community. This appointment comes at a pivotal time, with the hospital navigating ongoing demand growth, capacity pressures and a significant expansion program, alongside a transition to a dedicated public hospital leadership structure from 2026. The Chief Executive Officer will provide visible, stable leadership, driving operational performance, workforce engagement and financial sustainability, while strengthening organisational capability and positioning the hospital for future growth.

The successful candidate will be an experienced healthcare executive with a proven track record leading large, complex hospital operations. They will bring strong operational and financial acumen, experience working across sophisticated stakeholder environments and the ability to lead large, multidisciplinary teams through growth, change and service transformation.
