Architects/Graduates/Architectural Technicians

With a diversifying portfolio, Bates Smart is looking for architects, graduates, and architectural technicians to join our Sydney studio. We welcome candidates with 5+ years of experience in large-scale complex projects in design development and delivery phases to provide support with projects coordination and documentation. Applicants must be Revit proficient. Experience in infrastructure and major projects would be advantageous.

Responsibilities

Collaboratively working with the Project Leaders, Studio Directors & Project Team in facilitating design of the highest quality, by effectively assisting the Project Leaders with managing architecture projects, including but not limited to:

• Contribute to design discussions
• Contribute to the production of documentation and presentation information for issue to clients, consultants, and Authorities.
• Communicate effectively with their project leader and members of their team
• Research and apply relevant building codes and regulations
• Report to project leader as necessary to advise on progress
• Actively support the aims and objectives of Bates Smart
• Participate in ongoing training as required

Essential skills and experience

• Degree in Master of Architecture (or equivalent)
• Design sensibility
• Ability to work collaboratively within a team
• Ability to communicate and liaise effectively with people at all levels
• Ability to work to objectives and deadlines
• Strong attention to detail
• Ability to take initiative
• Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
• Demonstrated ability to work under minimal supervision
• Proficiency in Revit, AutoCAD, Sketch-up, Adobe Suite and Microsoft Office
• At least 5 years of previous experience in large-scale complex projects

Salary Range

$85,000 to $100,000 (commensurate with experience)
