Reporting to the Executive General Manager, Remote Communities. In this senior leadership role, you will own delivery outcomes across project development, approvals, procurement, construction, commissioning and handover, holding the portfolio to account for cost, schedule, risk, safety and performance. This role is about true ownership — stepping in early, resetting when required, and making confident decisions to protect delivery certainty.

Your Impact in This Role

Project Director accountability across a complex portfolio. Leading the delivery of complex infrastructure across generation, distribution and metering in remote and regional environments.

  • Own the end‑to‑end Remote Infrastructure Projects portfolio, from development through to commissioning and handover.
  • Hold the portfolio to account for cost, schedule, safety, risk and performance, intervening early where thresholds are exceeded.
  • Lead, mentor and develop a high performing multidisciplinary team of six direct reports, and up to thirty across the function. Embedding strong governance, safety and developing capability and performance to achieve program outcomes.
  • Provide clear, decision‑ready advice to Executives, Project Boards, Government and regulators, escalating risks early with options

Your Expertise

You will be commercially astute, and bring proven expertise in complex infrastructure delivery roles in regulated or high-risk environments, ideally Power and Utilities.

  • Tertiary qualification in Engineering, Business or Project Management is essential.
  • Extensive experience delivering major infrastructure programs, ideally in network and/or transmission context.
  • Demonstrated capability in commercial and financial leadership, problem solving, decision‑making and navigating high complexity environments.
  • Proven leadership experience managing multidisciplinary project teams and contractors.
  • Experience delivering projects in remote or regional environments would be highly regarded.
  • Confidence operating at Executive, Board, regulator and Ministerial interface, providing clear recommendations and risk escalation.
