Join a team that's committed to creating more inclusive communities. As a Local Area Coordinator, you'll support people with disability, their families and carers to build confidence, achieve their goals, and access the supports they need through the NDIS and their local community.

You'll work collaboratively with individuals, families, community organisations and service providers to deliver person-centred support while helping identify and reduce barriers to inclusion.

We're growing our team! We have a part-time (30.4 hours per week), fixed-term opportunity available until 30 June 2027, based in Mount Gambier. You'll support participants and communities across the Limestone Coast region, with regular travel throughout the region.

Your Key Responsibilities will be to

  • Deliver high-quality, person-centred support to people with disability, their families and carers.

  • Build trusted relationships with participants to understand their goals, strengths and support needs, and assist them to navigate the NDIS.

  • Empower participants to make informed decisions and connect with appropriate community, mainstream, informal and funded supports.

  • Collaborate with families, carers, the NDIA, community organisations and other stakeholders to achieve positive participant outcomes.

  • Maintain accurate participant records, complete administrative tasks, and meet contractual, legislative and quality requirements.

  • Contribute to a collaborative team culture through continuous learning, quality improvement and professional development.

Requirements for Success

  • Relevant qualification in Human Services, Social Work, Community Services or equivalent experience.

  • Experience supporting people with disability using a person-centred, strengths-based approach.

  • Experience managing a caseload and delivering positive outcomes within an NDIS or community services environment.

  • Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to build trusted relationships.

  • Excellent organisational skills, with the ability to manage competing priorities in a KPI-driven environment.

  • Strong digital literacy, with confidence using client management systems, databases and administrative platforms.

  • Resilience, adaptability and the ability to navigate change while maintaining a focus on quality participant outcomes.

  • Ability to meet NDIS Worker Screening Check and NDIA onboarding requirements.

  • Current Australian Driver’s Licence with no restrictions.

Before starting work with us, you will need to undertake a national police history check, qualifications, and referee checks, and have a clearance to work with children/vulnerable people.
