The Role

An exciting opportunity has become available for an energetic Assistant Village Manager to join our friendly team at Fiddlers Green.

Fiddlers Green is more than a retirement village—it’s a vibrant, close-knit community set among beautifully landscaped gardens in the heart of leafy Berwick. We are passionate about creating an environment where residents feel connected, supported, and inspired to live life to the fullest—and we’re looking for an exceptional Assistant Village Manager to help lead that experience.

In this role, you’ll be part of a welcoming and supportive team, contributing to a community that offers residents an active and fulfilling lifestyle. From coordinating engaging programs to ensuring smooth day-to-day operations, you’ll have the opportunity to make a genuine difference in residents’ lives while building strong relationships within a warm, people-first environment.

Reporting to the Village Manager, your key accountabilities in this role will include:

  • Supporting the day-to-day operations at the village
  • Implementing operational plans & projects
  • Ensuring compliance with all laws and regulations applicable to the village
  • Implementing company policies, strategies and plans to maintain residents’ satisfaction
  • Assisting with running of village events, social calendar and activities
  • Contributing to effective resident management to foster strong customer relationships and support delivery of village maintenance
  • Providing assistance with the preparation of budgets, financial processing and procurement
  • Managing payroll tasks and roster coordination for a team of 17 employees
  • Supporting the provision of a safe working environment for all staff, contractors, visitors and residents.

About You

Having a vibrant people-centric focus will see you thrive in this role, as will:

  • Having demonstrated experience working in a customer service role
  • An ability to balance different priorities and manage day-to-day expectations for the residents and their families
  • Demonstrated experience in complaint management and dispute resolution, ensuring issues are resolved efficiently and professionally
  • Experience in roles focused on community connection and engagement would be highly regarded
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills
  • Having a proactive, solutions-focused mindset with a commitment to resident wellbeing
  • Having excellent computer skills (confident with the use of Microsoft Office Suite and various online applications)
  • Having a genuine love for working with seniors
  • Having a compassionate nature, with a deep understanding of the unique needs of independent living seniors
  • Having a current First Aid Certificate & CPR Certificate, or be willing to obtain
  • Willingness to learn and professionally develop, along with a proactive and can-do attitude.
