Hays is proud to partner with a leading NSW Government organisation within the Housing Portfolio to recruit an experienced Work Health & Safety (WHS) Advisor. This is a fantastic opportunity to contribute to a high-impact team driving safety, compliance, and risk management initiatives across a large and complex environment.
Your new role
As the WHS Advisor, you will provide high-quality safety support across the division, ensuring a whole-of-lifecycle approach to WHS. You will play a key role in promoting a strong safety culture, providing expert advice, and supporting the implementation of WHS management systems and risk programs.
- Provide timely WHS advice to ensure compliance with legislation, policies, and procedures
- Review and improve WHS systems, policies, and frameworks
- Conduct audits and recommend continuous improvement strategies
- Support teams with risk management, hazard identification, and safe work practices
- Assist in incident, hazard, and near-miss investigations, including corrective actions
- Coordinate WHS committees and stakeholder engagement activities
- Facilitate workshops to drive awareness and capability uplift
- Prepare WHS reports, performance metrics, and insights for senior leadership
- Monitor and report on duress system usage
What you'll need to succeed
- Tertiary qualifications in WHS or a related discipline
- Demonstrated experience in WHS within a complex organisation
- Strong knowledge of WHS legislation, policies, and compliance requirements
- Proven ability to influence stakeholders and promote a positive safety culture
- Experience in audits, investigations, and risk management frameworks
