The opportunity

This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced and qualified professional to step into the role of Coordinator Library Services while the City’s current Coordinator undertakes a professional development opportunity before returning in February 2027. We are seeking someone who is passionate about the library profession and enjoys the rewards of a meaningful challenge.

As Coordinator, you will guide a high-performing team to deliver contemporary, inclusive and accessible library services that support literacy, digital inclusion and lifelong learning across the community. You will drive the planning and delivery of innovative programs, events and resources, while providing strong operational leadership across facilities, staff and services. Working in alignment with strategic and regulatory frameworks, you will also oversee key functions including workforce planning, work health and safety, financial management and risk, ensuring sustainable and high-quality service delivery.

The City of Mandurah operates three libraries across the community:

  • Mandurah Library
  • Falcon Library and Community Centre
  • Lakelands Library and Community Centre

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A degree or postgraduate qualification in Library and Information Studies, Business Management or a relevant discipline
  • Eligibility for Australian Library and Information Association (ALIA) membership
  • Hold an unrestricted ‘C-A’ (Automatic) or ‘C-B’ (Manual) class national driver’s licence
  • A current National Police Clearance
  • A current Working with Children Check
  • A minimum of five years’ experience in a senior public library position or equivalent
  • A minimum of five years’ experience managing teams across various locations
  • Experience in a similar role within government or the private sector, desirable
  • Experience in facility management, including coordinating capital and operational requirements
