About this Position
As Branch Manager - Bendigo, you'll lead the day-to-day operations of our branch, overseeing Warehouse, Transport, Stock Control and Administration functions while driving a safe, high-performing and customer-focused culture.
With accountability for branch EBIT, you'll balance operational excellence with commercial performance, ensuring the branch delivers exceptional service, strong financial results and sustainable growth.
While you won't directly manage the Sales team, you'll work closely with the Sales Manager to support customer growth, strengthen relationships and ensure the branch is set up to deliver on its commitments.
Leading a team of 16, you'll be a visible, hands-on leader who builds trust, develops people and drives accountability. You'll bring flexibility to support both AM and PM operations and provide leadership support outside standard business hours when required.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the day-to-day operations of the branch across Warehouse, Transport, Stock Control and Administration.
- Deliver branch EBIT targets through strong financial management, operational efficiency and cost control.
- Partner closely with the Sales Manager to support customer growth, retention and overall branch performance.
- Monitor branch P&L performance, operational KPIs and productivity metrics to identify opportunities for improvement.
- Drive a strong safety culture and ensure compliance with CoR, HACCP, WHS and food safety requirements.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with customers, suppliers and internal stakeholders.
- Lead, coach and develop your team, fostering accountability, capability and engagement.
- Manage labour, fleet and inventory resources to support operational performance and customer service outcomes.
- Champion continuous improvement initiatives that enhance service, efficiency and profitability.
- Work collaboratively with State and National leaders to deliver operational excellence across the network.
What We’re Looking For
To thrive in this role, you will bring:
- Proven leadership experience managing operational teams within logistics, warehousing, FMCG, wholesale distribution or a similar environment.
- Strong commercial and financial acumen, including experience managing budgets, costs and P&L performance.
- Demonstrated ability to lead, coach and develop diverse teams while building a positive and accountable culture.
- Strong customer focus, with the ability to build and maintain effective relationships both internally and externally.
- Sound knowledge of WHS, Chain of Responsibility (CoR), food safety and compliance requirements.
- A hands-on, solutions-focused leadership style with the ability to make decisions and drive outcomes.
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence across all levels of the business.
- Resilient, adaptable and comfortable operating in a fast-paced environment where no two days are the same.
