State Lead - Western Australia

Join Optometry Australia as the State Lead – Western Australia (0.4 FTE) and help shape the future of optometry. This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced optometrist to influence policy, strengthen the profession, and improve eye health outcomes for Western Australians.

Working remotely (with Perth preferred), you will be the face of Optometry Australia in Western Australia, leading member engagement and building strong, trusted relationships with optometrists, universities, government agencies, health organisations and other key stakeholders. As the primary contact for members across the state, you will ensure their voices are heard, identify emerging issues and opportunities, and champion initiatives that support the profession.

You will play a key role in advancing Optometry Australia's advocacy agenda by contributing to state-based policy development, representing the organisation at meetings, forums, and events, and fostering partnerships that enhance the profession's profile and impact.

This role is ideal for an experienced and well-connected optometrist who is passionate about professional leadership and advocacy. You will bring exceptional communication and relationship-building skills, a strong understanding of the Western Australian health system and policy environment, and the ability to influence and engage a broad range of stakeholders. Most importantly, you will be motivated by the opportunity to make a meaningful difference to the profession and to the eye health of Western Australians.
