About the Role
Decmil is seeking a Senior Project Engineer to provide support to an exciting new Road Upgrade Project in Western Sydney. In this role, working closely with leaders and crews to enable safe, efficient and compliant delivery.
Responsibilities
- Plan and coordinate complex project engineering assignments are entailing technical specifications and the preparation of detailed plans.
- Prepare and implement Project Management Plan/s.
- Demonstrate and provide a high level of customer service to the project team, client representatives, subcontractors, supervisors, consultants, and community.
- Monitor field production progress quantities against budget and forecast final cost for each item.
- Manage key planning and programme status with regard to progress, time, cost, and contractual issues.
- Identify construction problems or potential delays early and implement mitigation strategies to limit adverse consequences.
- Identify and develop the scope of works, ensuring no scope gaps between trade packages and that all works are included in an appropriate trade package.
- Prepare programs for allocated work packages that meet the project’s objectives.
- Coordinate resources, including manpower, monitor progress, evaluate results and recommend appropriate changes in specifications or plans.
- Complete a thorough review of consultant drawings, including cross-referencing for anomalies, sufficient detailing, and accuracy of notes and references.
- Review the project designs and liaise with the area Supervisors and subcontractors to ensure that all relevant information is available, and omissions & discrepancies are resolved before works are affected on site. Ensure that drawings are distributed to all the relevant subcontractors and that all documents being used for construction are the current revision
What You’ll Bring
- Bachelor of Engineering or equivalent qualification recognised by Engineers Australia
- Chartered Professional Engineer or working toward chartered professional status preferred
- Minimum of 8 years’ experience in the construction and engineering industry.
- Proven ability and demonstrated experience in planning and managing projects, including contract management, project expenditure, estimating and delivery.
- Demonstrated experience in effective supervision and monitoring of sub-contractors and other trades.
- Awareness and understanding of Work Health, Safety and Environmental principles and practice.
- Strong technical knowledge, understanding and attention to detail.
- Clear communication and ability to work in different teams.
- Strong Leadership. Commitment to safety, respect and doing things the right way

- Roster: Monday- Saturday
- Initial Project Duration: 15 Months
