What You’ll Be Doing

Reporting to the Head of Marketing & Customer Systems, you will lead a team of Marketing & Customer Analytics Engineers, providing technical direction, mentorship, and quality oversight. While focused on strategy and stakeholder engagement, you will remain hands-on contributing to architecture decisions, complex implementations, and platform development as needed.

You bring deep expertise in digital measurement, with experience building analytics infrastructure, leading platform migrations, and understanding end-to-end data flows. You hold strong views on measurement quality, challenge vendor capabilities, and prioritise simplifying and consolidating systems over adding complexity.

A key focus is expanding measurement capability while improving simplicity, interoperability, and governance across the analytics ecosystem. You will help lead measurement for emerging AI channels and work cross-functionally with Marketing, Customer, Commercial, Engineering, and Data teams to translate business needs into robust, trustworthy, decision-ready insights.

  • Define and maintain measurement frameworks across marketing and customer channels, including AI platforms, ensuring consistent methodologies, standards, and reporting structures.
  • Lead analytics architecture and instrumentation design, making considered decisions on platforms, data flows, and system boundaries that prioritise long-term reliability and simplicity.
  • Drive consolidation and rationalisation of measurement approaches, reducing duplication and improving cohesion, while anticipating changes in platforms, privacy, and business needs.

Technical Leadership & Hands-On Contribution

  • Provide technical direction across analytics engineering, including tracking, data pipelines, attribution, and experimentation, while remaining hands-on in solution design and complex problem-solving.
  • Bring deep expertise in building analytics systems and leading platform migrations, setting standards for event design, data architecture, taxonomy, and instrumentation quality.
  • Stay current with changes in analytics tools, browser behaviour, and privacy frameworks, applying insights to continuously improve measurement practices.

Team Leadership & Capability Development

  • Lead, mentor, and develop a team of Analytics Engineers, providing clear direction, feedback, and growth opportunities aligned to strategic priorities.
  • Translate strategy into actionable workplans, balancing high-impact initiatives with BAU and fostering a culture of rigour in data quality and measurement practices.
  • Build team capability through coaching and development, while modelling collaborative, transparent ways of working across cross-functional teams.

Stakeholder Engagement & Insight Communication

  • Partner with senior stakeholders to shape better questions, define measurement approaches, and support informed decision-making.
  • Translate business needs into robust measurement frameworks, clearly communicating assumptions, limitations, and confidence levels.
  • Deliver high-quality insights and challenge unsound requests with constructive, evidence-based alternatives, building trust through consistency and transparency.

Data Governance & Measurement Integrity

  • Own data governance standards including event naming, taxonomy, documentation, and schema consistency across the analytics ecosystem.
  • Establish QA processes to ensure tracking accuracy and proactively resolve systemic data quality issues at the root cause.
  • Ensure compliance with privacy regulations, maintaining strong understanding of data collection, usage, and reporting implications.
