Catering Assistant

We are seeking a detail-oriented Wash and Catering Assistant to join our dynamic team at Sydney Airport. Utilize your skills to prepare fresh ingredients and ensure high standards of hygiene and safety in a fast-paced environment. Your Responsibilities

• Chop, slice, and dice ingredients with precision
• Ensure food meets presentation and portioning standards
• Follow food safety rules and maintain a clean workspace
• Collaborate with chefs and kitchen staff to meet production targets
• Assist in stock management and waste reduction

Wash Department Duties

• Operate commercial dishwashing equipment in a high-volume environment
• Wash, sanitise, and properly store kitchen utensils, trays, and catering equipment
• Follow strict hygiene, food safety, and airline compliance standards
• Support turnaround of catering equipment to meet tight flight schedules
• Report any equipment faults or hygiene issues promptly
• Work efficiently as part of a team to keep operations running smoothly

The Must-Haves

• Previous kitchen, food prep, or cleaning experience preferred
• Understanding of food safety and hygiene standards
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, physically demanding environment
• Team-oriented mindset and good communication skills
• Physical fitness to handle manual tasks, standing for long periods, and repetitive work
• Flexibility to work various shifts including early mornings, evenings, and weekends
