What this job involves
Transaction Manager for a large Government Property Portfolio.
Key Responsibilities include
Transaction & Portfolio Management
- Manage diverse government property portfolio (commercial offices, specialist sites, housing)
- Handle lease negotiations, renewals, terminations, and stakeholder engagement
- Oversee rent roll accuracy, critical dates, and lease obligation compliance
- Project manage complex multi-site transactions
- Serve as primary point of contact for landlords/tenants
Strategic Leasing Activities
- Execute transactions aligned with WoAG leasing strategy
- Prepare business cases and conduct market research
- Coordinate with Strategic Property Advisor and Department of Finance
- Ensure approvals are documented
- Achieve value-for-money outcomes
Compliance & Governance
- Maintain compliance with Commonwealth legislation (PGPA Act, LAA Act)
- Ensure adherence to government property portfolio policies
- Manage regulatory frameworks, WHS obligations, and environmental sustainability requirements
- Support risk management and incident response
Operational Support
- Coordinate property inspections and fault notifications
- Support facilities management activities
- Maintain accurate lease data in PMIS systems
- Manage entry/exit inspections and reporting
- Support broader government property portfolio initiatives
