About the Role
Decmil is seeking a Project Engineer to provide support to an exciting new Road Upgrade Project in Western Sydney. In this role, you will be working closely with leaders and crews to enable safe, efficient and compliant delivery.
Responsibilities
- Plan and coordinate project engineering assignments entailing technical specifications and the preparation of detailed plans.
- Daily monitoring of on-site resources, recent material, supplier deliveries and construction progress in conjunction with the supervisors for daily, weekly reporting
- Act as a troubleshooter and ensure any potential problems are alerted to the appropriate senior team member.
- Build strong relationships and networks with clients, project teams, design teams and subcontractors.
- Monitor field production progress quantities against budget and forecast final cost for each item.
- Coordinate with subcontractors, consultant & client signoffs at the specified witness/hold points.
- Manage key planning and programme status with regard to progress, time, cost, and contractual issues.
- Identify and develop the scope of works, ensuring no scope gaps between trade packages and that all works are included in an appropriate trade package.
- Prepare programs for allocated work packages that meet the project’s objectives.
- Coordinate resources, including manpower and monitor progress, evaluate results, and recommend appropriate changes in specifications or plans.
- Complete a thorough review of consultant drawings, including cross-referencing for anomalies, sufficient detailing, and accuracy of notes and references. Review the project designs and liaise with the area Supervisors and subcontractors to ensure that all relevant information is available, and omissions & discrepancies are resolved prior to works being affected on site
What You’ll Bring
- Bachelor of Engineering or equivalent qualification recognised by Engineers Australia
- Minimum of 4 years’ experience in the construction and engineering industry.
- Proven ability and demonstrated experience in project planning, contract, and vendor management, estimating and delivery.
- Awareness and understanding of Work Health Safety and environmental principles and practice
- Strong technical knowledge and understanding and attention to detail
- High- level communication, written and people skills, ability to work in different teams Commitment to safety, respect and doing things the right way
Role Details
- Location: Western Sydney
- Roster: Monday- Saturday
- Initial Project Duration: 15 Months
- Full Time – Permanent
