What You Will Be Doing

Reporting to the Commercial Manager, you will provide high-level financial and commercial support to operational leadership, helping drive improved performance, cost control, and strategic decision-making across the operation.

The Successful Candidate Will Be Responsible For

• Delivering commercial insights to support operational and leadership decision-making
• Supporting business case development and capital expenditure analysis
• Performing financial modelling and cost analysis across site operations
• Supporting forecasting, budgeting, and long-term planning processes
• Analysing variance performance and identifying key cost drivers
• Supporting risk identification and financial evaluation of mitigation strategies
• Preparing discipline-specific financial reports with meaningful operational insights
• Collaborating with site leadership to improve asset performance and cost efficiency
• Identifying opportunities for continuous commercial improvement

What You Will Need

• Relevant tertiary qualification in Finance, Accounting, Economics or similar
• CA/CPA qualified or currently working towards
• Strong experience in commercial finance / business partnering roles
• Experience within mining, heavy industry, or operational environments (highly regarded)
• Experience using ERP systems (SAP preferred)
• Knowledge of QLD Coal Mining legislation (desirable)
• Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data into operational insights
• Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, site-based environment with competing priorities
• High level of attention to detail, initiative, and problem-solving capability
