- $102,747.00 per annum plus 12% superannuation
- Full Time, fixed term opportunity until 16/4/2027 (parental leave)
- Wadawurrung/Geelong location – (hybrid work from home -3 days a week in office)
About the role
The Psychosocial Programs Officer provides specialist coordination and development of assets to enable the organisation to deliver on WorkSafe’s commitments as a Duty Holder for the Mental Health Strategy and psychosocial risk management programs. Under the guidance of the Senior Psychosocial Programs Lead, this position will provide expertise developing and implementing the Mental Health Strategy Action Plan and associated guidance materials, including communications and support of leadership stakeholders to manage their responsibilities associated with the Psychological Health Regulations (2025).
The position will engage with stakeholders and coordinate research and inputs from across the organisation to develop and deliver tailored programs that support employee mental health and reduce the risk of harm. Acknowledging WorkSafe’s responsibilities and position as a regulator in the Victorian Community, this position will drive innovation and psychosocial initiatives whilst supporting the delivery of the WorkSafe Strategy.
Key accountabilities
- Coordinate Mental Health Strategy Action Plan key deliverables including development of multi-media presentation materials with a key focus on proactive psychological support through coordination of services.
- Engage with stakeholders to deliver innovative, evidence-based prevention programs on a broad range of psychosocial topics, such as profiling for trauma prevention and management. This work will involve liaising and networking across a range of teams such as the employee led networks, field operations and legal experts
- Manage financial requirements for the provision of services via purchase orders and Oracle requirements
- Understand stakeholder needs and provide specialist assistance to people leaders on available psychosocial supports and practical implementation including relevant information on regulations, risk mitigation, the OHS Act and other related legislation
- Maintain networking via stakeholder engagement and management. This includes remaining up to date on current psychosocial information, trends and technology updates with consideration for implementation and project development
- Maintains contextual knowledge of mental health in the modern work environment and guidance materials developed by the health and safety Regulator.
- Demonstrates sound decision-making and activates risk management principles aligned with the Safety Management System to mitigate risks to employees.

Skills and experience
- Understanding of employer based OHS operations and the need to ensure all products produced are from and evidence-based framework to aid internal influencing
- Demonstrated understanding of psychological challenges in work settings and ability to work in a collegial manner in an environment of complexity
- Ability to liaise in a professional manner and tailor communication methods with diverse stakeholder groups including field-based teams, People leaders and employee networks
- Experienced presenter and facilitator in workplace environments and ability to actively coordinate projects for timely delivery, as guided by the people leaper
- Knowledge of evidence-based interventions, research, legal and ethical requirements, clinical skills, and referral sources
- Demonstrated commitment to professional development and continuous improvement - including commitment to sharing expertise
- Confidence in organisational skills, with ability to work autonomously, prioritise deliverables whilst managing personal self-care and wellbeing
Qualifications
- Tertiary qualified, allied health professional such as Occupational Therapy, Organisational Psychology or Physiotherapy or equivalent experience and qualifications in occupational health and safety role
