Mechanical Supervisor - FIFO

We are currently looking for experienced Mechanical Supervisors to start immediately on the Newman Water Treatment Plant Tank replacement Project. The works will be based in Newman on either 2/1 or 12/9 FIFO roster.

The project is expected to be completed by end of year & primarily consists of theinstallation of pipe work and brackets

Within the Asset project department, the team is responsible for executing large-scale capital and operation expenditure project works.

Within this team, the supervisors are responsible for planning and supervising the execution of activities.

Purpose

• Supervise and manage the safe execution of track renewals execution civil work activities.
• Develop civil works methodologies to improve safety and efficiency, and to reduce cost.
• Develop and sustain a strong safety and collaborative culture in the track renewals team.
• Supporting the Project Manager in project delivery, ensuring works are constructed to contract requirements and timelines.

Qualifications

• Current full West Australian "C" class motor vehicle license or current equivalent.
• Leadership experience in mechanical works supervision.
• Mechanical trade qual
• S26 & exam qual

Pre-requisite accreditation for BHP Responsible Person duties (desirable but not mandatory)

• RIICOM301D - Communicate Information,
• RIIRIS301D - Apply Risk Management Processes,
• BSBMGT401A - Show Leadership in the Workplace, and
• RIIBEF402D - Supervise Onsite Operations.

Skills

• Supervisory experience.
• Good communication, interpersonal and people management skills with a range of audiences.
• Computer literacy with Microsoft suite, 1SAP and planning systems.
• Good planning skills and the ability to oversee projects to successful completion.
• Administration and prioritisation including time management capability.
• Competent in reading detailed plans and elevations.
• Sound judgement including balancing competing

Experience

Demonstrated experience in leading workgroups and contractors to complete mechanical works (experience with piping installation, flange management etc).
