Harrison Barratt Group (HBG)

Want to get into recruitment? This is the way in.

Harrison Barratt Group (HBG) is a national labour hire and recruitment business supplying trades, labour and white-collar professionals across construction, civil, warehousing and manufacturing.

We're hiring a Junior Resourcer / Allocator & Office Support to join our labour hire team in the new year. You'll have a clear pathway to permanent employment and progression into a Trainee Recruitment Consultant role for strong performers.

It's phone-heavy, fast-paced and people-driven — ideal for someone who likes solving problems and working in a high-output team.

What you'll be doing

  • High-volume phone contact with candidates, clients and the internal team
  • Posting job ads and processing applications from job boards, social media and referrals
  • Screening candidates, running interviews and completing reference checks
  • Daily allocation of workers across construction sites, warehouses and manufacturing facilities
  • Managing last-minute changes, emergency fills and site requirements
  • Collecting and qualifying leads to pass to the recruitment team
  • Supporting the Ops Manager, Managing Director and labour hire team with coordination and light admin
  • Maintaining the office line

You'll balance candidate needs with client requirements and take ownership of outcomes.

Hours & expectations

  • 40 hours per week, office-based (Surry Hills)
  • Early starts and late finishes may be required to meet site and operational needs
  • Occasional site visits to meet candidates, using a pool company vehicle

What we're looking for

  • Confident on the phone and comfortable dealing with people all day
  • Organised, sharp, and quick to connect information
  • Calm under pressure and solutions-focused
  • A good judge of character with strong follow-through
  • Able to take direction and act on it

Exposure to consultant-level recruitment is highly regarded but not essential — training is provided for the right person.

Pay, progression & perks

  • $32-$38 per hour, depending on experience (strong candidates may start at $35/hr)
  • Clear pathway to permanent employment
  • Progression into a Trainee Recruitment Consultant role after 3-6 months (performance-based)
  • Bonus and commission opportunities up to 30% placement profit as responsibility grows
  • Company laptop, phone and all tools provided
  • Structured onboarding and ongoing training

Visa & location

  • Candidates on valid Australian work visas are welcome to apply
  • Preference for candidates with full working rights and long-term intent
  • Potential future opportunity to work in QLD after time in Sydney
