As a Capital City Council, Councillors need to fulfil important decision-making and city representation responsibilities, including portfolio roles – our Councillor Liaison Team assist in supporting all this important and fundamental work!
In this role as a Councillor Liaison Officer, you will join our dynamic team that supports the Councillors in providing a range of administrative, liaison, stakeholder management and advisory services
You will play a key part in helping Councillors meet the demands of their role, while working in a committed team who work collaboratively to provide an exceptional service.
As a Councillor representative, you will work in a complex environment and require an understanding of the challenges associated with working with diverse community and stakeholder issues in a political environment, and one where Council policy and strategic direction is sometimes challenged.
Given collaboration is central, this role is requires in-office presence to effectively support our Councillors and internal and external stakeholders.
A Little More About The Role
- Provide high level advisory, administrative and liaison support to Councillors, ensuring the smooth delivery of their civic, portfolio and community responsibilities.
- Develop, manage and maintain strong relationships with internal stakeholders, community groups and external partners.
- Undertake research, analysis and prepare high quality briefings, correspondence, reports and presentations.
- Manage competing priorities in a fast-paced, deadline driven environment while maintaining discretion and professionalism.
