About the opportunity

There will be a direct reporting line to the Management Accountant (Senior’s Living).

The role will be responsible for reporting accurate data by maintaining all controls, business / financial processes and procedures in place and accordance with Mercy Health Group Finance Policies / Procedures.

Specific tasks will include:

  • Completion of end of month reporting tasks to ensure accurate financial data to enable Management to make strategic decisions for the business.

  • Responsibility for the completion of balance sheet reconciliations to validate accurate financial data on a monthly basis.

  • Active involvement in monthly & quarterly reporting processes Senior’s Living Management and external stakeholders.

  • Involvement in the preparation of the annual budget.

  • Dynamic analysis, project & ad hoc tasks as required.

  • Preparing responses to enquiries for internal and external stakeholders in line with the multiple Retirement Village Act’s.

As a member of the Finance and Support Services team, the candidate will provide leadership in achieving and upholding Mercy Health’s Vision, Purpose and Values.

To thrive in this role, you will have:

  • Strong written and verbal communication with an ability to clearly articulate outcomes with sound judgment.

  • It is desirable, but not mandatory, that the Assistant Accountant be degree qualified in accountancy, business or a related field.

  • Experience with the Retirement Village Act’s highly regarded, but not mandatory.

You will also be required to provide evidence of, or in the process of obtaining:

  • A current Police Record Check.
