About The Role

This role is accountable for driving pragmatic and timely project outcomes through strong stakeholder engagement, strategic partnerships, and effective advocacy, including identifying and securing external funding or resources where appropriate. The position also plays a key role in developing systems, processes and reporting mechanisms that support organisational performance, continuous improvement and informed decision-making. The role works across business units to identify and deliver priority initiatives aligned with Council’s strategic objectives, including the Smart City and Innovation Strategy.

In this role you will

  • Lead and manage the delivery of major projects and strategic initiatives, ensuring outcomes are aligned with Council priorities, timelines and budget constraints.
  • Prepare, coordinate and present high-quality reports, briefings and presentations for senior management, Council and external audiences.
  • Monitor project performance and risks, using data and reporting to inform decision-making and enable early intervention where required.
  • Support the development of dashboards, reports and analysis to provide insights and support evidence - based decisions.
  • Identify, investigate and progress strategic opportunities that support the City’s growth, including engaging partners and pursuing funding or resource opportunities

We offer a competitive remuneration package from $121,367 to $133,651 plus 12% superannuation.

About You

The successful candidate is someone with advanced project management capability, strong analytical and problem-solving skills, and the ability to communicate complex information to senior stakeholders, while ensuring alignment with Council’s values, policies and legislative obligations.

  • Proven senior experience in project administration or project management to deliver multi - faceted and integrated outcomes.
  • Demonstrated significant experience in identifying and protectively solving complex problems.
  • High level application of analytical, creative thinking and problem-solving skills in a complex, multidisciplinary environment.
  • Demonstrated skills in written communication for diverse audiences, including development of strategic document/s.

Qualifications

  • Degree qualification that relates to a relevant discipline to the operation of City Planning & Design such as planning, innovation, design, business and/or project management, or ICT.
