Join our Downer Professional Services team and play a key role in delivering complex defence and national security projects that safeguard Australia’s future.

Downer Professional Services is comprised of two business units, our Technical, Advisory, and Capability consulting practice and Team Downer, a major service partner to Defence. Together, we are a multi-disciplinary advisory and delivery partner of choice for our clients in Defence and National Security.

We currently have an opportunity for a Configuration Manager SHFC L3 in Canberra, ACT to work on Defence capability acquisition and sustainment projects.

What You’ll Do

These roles offer a broad scope, with key role responsibilities including:

  • Establish, implement, and continuously improve Configuration Management frameworks aligned to Defence policy and standards
  • Lead configuration control activities including Change Control Boards (CCB) and Engineering Review Board (ERB) processes
  • Manage configuration baselines across the system lifecycle, ensuring integrity from design through to sustainment
  • Provide authoritative Configuration Management advice to engineering, program leadership, and stakeholders
  • Ensure traceability, auditability, and reporting of configuration data to support certification and operational acceptance

What You’ll Bring

  • Demonstrated experience in Configuration Management within Defence or complex engineering environments
  • Strong knowledge of Configuration Management principles, standards, and lifecycle application
  • Experience working across multi-stakeholder programs and integrating CM with engineering processes
  • Proven ability to provide advice and influence senior technical and program stakeholders
  • Relevant tertiary qualifications in Engineering or related discipline, or equivalent experience

Due to the nature of the work, the successful applicant must hold and maintain an AGSVA Security Clearance, as required by the Commonwealth. In some cases, compliance with International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) may also be required.
