This is an excellent opportunity for an Intermediate Accountant to join an AFR Top 40 accounting and advisory firm with a 70-year history, a strong reputation in the market, and genuine opportunities for development and progression.

You'll work with a diverse client base across industries including construction, manufacturing, agriculture, and healthcare, while gaining exposure to both compliance and advisory work.

The Opportunity

As an Intermediate Accountant, you'll work closely with experienced managers and partners to deliver high-quality outcomes for a broad portfolio of clients.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Preparing financial statements, income tax returns, and compliance-related work
  • Assisting with advisory projects and responding to client queries
  • Working across a variety of entity structures including companies, trusts, partnerships, and unit trusts
  • Supporting senior team members in delivering tailored solutions to clients
  • Identifying opportunities to improve processes and add value to client relationships
  • Ensuring work is completed accurately and within required deadlines
  • Keeping up to date with relevant legislation, accounting standards, and industry developments

About You

We're looking for someone who is eager to continue developing their technical skills while building confidence in client-facing responsibilities.

You will ideally have

  • A degree in Accounting, Commerce, or a related discipline
  • Approximately 2–3 years' experience within a public practice accounting firm
  • Progress towards, or completion of, CA qualifications
  • Experience preparing accounts and tax returns for a range of entities
  • Exposure to a variety of industries and client types
  • Strong attention to detail and excellent organisational skills
  • The ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines
  • Professional communication skills and a genuine desire to develop client relationships
  • A collaborative, team-oriented mindset with a willingness to learn
