About The Role
We are seeking experienced Electrical & Instrumentation Technician based at our Broken Hill Mineral Separation Plant. This is a permanent full time position, 38 hours per week on a 9 day fortnight.
Responsibilities
The Electrical & Instrumentation Technician is accountable for planned, preventative and breakdown electrical maintenance activities. Reporting to the Electrical Supervisor, you will be responsible for:
- Conducting maintenance activities, inspection testing and calibration for fixed plant equipment and instrumentation in accordance with Company procedures and operating instructions..
- Minimising downtime through accurate fault finding, investigating and determining repair actions.
- Ensure the reliability and integrity of plant and equipment by investigating and preventing recurrence of electrical/instrument failures
- Installing and commissioning modifications and design changes to control, instrument and electrical equipment in accordance with standards.
- Utilising SAP to obtain parts and complete documentation/reports as required.
- Isolating plant and equipment for maintenance purposes.
- Participation in team projects and sharing continuous improvement ideas that may enhance maintenance, safety, process and cost reduction.
- Maintain a high standard of housekeeping and workmanship.
About You
To be successful in this role you will ideally need to possess:
- Hold a current NSW Electrical Qualified Supervisor Certificate (or have the ability to obtain)
- Familiar with requirements of AS3000 and WHS (Mines and Petroleum Sites) Regulations
- Available to participate in an on-call roster and attend after hours call-outs as required.
The Following Would Also Be Advantageous To Your Application
- Industrial, fixed plant or mining electrical background
- HV Switching Certification and experience
- Instrumentation and process control experience
- PLC and SCADA experience
- Dogging
- Forklift trucks
- Basic scaffolding
- Boom-type EWP >11m
- Familiar with SAP, Microsoft 365, general computer usage.
