About the Role

You will be working at Concord Repatriation General Hospital. Concord Repatriation General Hospital is a principal referral facility and a teaching hospital of the University of Sydney. We offer a comprehensive range of specialty and sub-specialty services, many recognised nationally and internationally as centres of excellence.

Major services include geriatrics and rehabilitation medicine, cardiology, neurology and neurosurgery, colorectal and laparoscopic surgery, gastroenterology, bone and joint services, cancer services, haematology, respiratory medicine and sleep studies, molecular biology and genetics, and those provided through the internationally acknowledged Statewide Burns Service, in which Concord plays a major part.

The JMO Coordinator plays a key role in supporting the Manager, Medical Allocations & Development Unit for day-to-day human resource and rostering activities relating to junior medical staff. The position has primary responsibility for managing not only the rosters but also administration of policies and procedures for junior medical staff at all levels.

You will be involved in recruitment as well as managing the registration and visa requirements of overseas medical staff prior to commencement.

This position will act as the Deputy Manager of MADU when the Manager is absent from the department.

This position would suit someone who has prior medial workforce experience, is able to juggle competing priorities and is able to meet strict deadlines. As this is a coordinator role you will need to demonstrate superior communication skills to liaise with all levels of staff.

Ideal Candidate

  • Extensive experience in health administration and with junior medical officers.
  • Possess knowledge, experience and understanding of Medical Allocations and Rostering, and Human Resources Management.
  • Commitment to ensuring a high level of service from Medical Allocations Unit to its stakeholders i.e. junior medical officers. Monitor, adjust and resolve roster and recruitment enquiries of junior medical officers.
  • Personal qualities of tact, discretion, initiative and judgement and ability to work under pressure.
